A detailed life history (starting with grandparents) performed by an experienced clinician is
probably the most reliable diagnostic tool to determine whether a person has ADD/ADHD. A
thorough physical examination, including allergy testing and nutritional analysis, is recommended.
This should be supplemented by interviews with key people in the person's life, such as parents, spouse, and teachers.
Self-assessment tests are not a substitute for the
procedures listed above, but may provide information indicating
that further evaluation is needed. Our sole purpose is to
provide information and support, not to be a substitute for
professional evaluation.
