Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 guarantees certain rights to individuals with disabilities, which includes ADD/ADHD.
Schools in Oregon currently receive $4500 per "general population" student in state aid, and $9000 for each
"special education" student. Students with ADD/ADHD are included in a third category, wherein the school receives
only the $4500 allotment but is required to give modified course-work, allow additional time to complete tasks, and provide
more access to teaching assistants.
